Where is Raja Ampat ?

The Raja Ampat Islands are an Indonesian archipelago off the northwest Peninsula in West Papua.

Visa Requirements:

All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months. Persons holding passports from 170 countries can visit Indonesia without a visa for 30 days and another 68 (including United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France) may apply for a Visa on Arrival. Read more here.

When you travel to West Papua you will get your visa on the first Indonesian international airport on your route so make sure you are prepared accordingly.

Because you are visiting a protected area you will also need Raja Ampat Marine Park for which a permit fee is needed. This will be valid for 1 year and costs 1000000 IDR ( approximately 75 USD).

Vaccinations:

The generally recommend vaccinations for Indonesia for the standard Tourist include cover against Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus and Poliomyelitis.

Currency:

The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is the currency of Indonesia.

Power plugs and sockets:

In Indonesia the power plugs and sockets are of type C and F. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. This is standard European socket.
